As soon as you set foot in this beautiful city, the first "must-visit" is to take a walk along the boardwalk. Don't miss out on some of the shows that happen in the plaza Los Arcos and don't skip enjoying some of the most spectacular sunsets in the world.

To the south of the river Cuale, we arrive to the most popular area, known as the Zona Romántica and also as Viejo Vallarta (Old Town). The Mismaloya beach was the reason for the touristic boom in Puerto Vallarta. It is a 900 meter long curved beach surrounded by jungle and the Sierra Madre mountains. Nowadays, Mismaloya offers excellent hotels, restaurants, and palm shelters, as well as a zoo and a tequila factory.

At the south end of the boardwalk, you will find the Museum of Naval History. There you can find maps, ship replicas, navigation instruments, uniforms, and whale skeletons. If you go to the upstairs part of the museum, you will find a café where apart from an economic breakfast, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Bay of Banderas.

15 minutes north of the center of Puerto Vallarta you will find the luxury area of Marina Vallarta, where you will see another landmark of the city: the lighthouse.In the open air restaurant they offer delicious dishes, as well as a spectacular view from above.

Situated between the beaches Las Gemelas and Mismaloya, there are the 5 islands that make up the nature park of Los Arcos. The waters where these islands are found are the deepest waters in the Bay of Banderas and it is the perfect place to go snorkeling and scuba diving.

You cannot leave Puerto Vallarta without enjoying the work of the most outstanding artist in Puerto Vallarta: Manuel Lepe. Presidents, the queen of England, Elizabeth Taylor, and other outstanding characters are the proud owners of the work of this peculiar artist.
